Nominations for Parent Governor

Dear parents/carers,

I am writing to you to invite you to stand for election as a Parent Governor or nominate another parent to do so. Here at Mildmay Primary School , we have provision for 2 Parent Governors and there is currently 1 vacancy.

The Governing Committee (including the HT), has overall responsibility for the running of the school. The Local Governing Committee's core strategic functions are to:

  • Ensure clarity of vision, ethos, and strategic directions, of the School and Trust
  • Hold the Headteacher to account for educational performance of the school and its pupils.

No special qualifications are needed, and the most important thing is to have a keen interest in the school and be prepared to play an active part in the governing committee’s work. Training is available for all Governors and this Committee of Governors has an expectation that those new to being a Governor attend an induction.

The link below will take you to a nomination form if you would like to stand for election. Please complete this no later than 16th December. Self-nominations will be accepted but if you are nominating another parent, please seek their prior consent. If you require more information about the role or information in an alternative format please contact clerk@bridgeacademytrust.org in the first instance.

If there are more nominations than vacancies the election will be by secret ballot. If that is necessary, parents will be sent a link to vote along with details of the process.
